Diary of a Nudist (1961), directed by cult exploitation filmmaker Doris Wishman, is a classic of American nudist cinema from the early 1960s, starring Davee Decker and Norman Casserly. The story follows a newspaper editor who unexpectedly discovers a nudist camp and immediately develops a negative opinion of its lifestyle. Determined to expose the community, he sends journalist Stacy to investigate and write a critical article. Stacy, however, is captivated by the peaceful atmosphere and philosophy of the camp, publishing a series of positive articles. The director, furious with the results, decides to visit the camp himself, only to discover that the lifestyle he once rejected may be exactly what he was looking for. A fascinating example of American nudist/exploitation cinema of the era, Diary of a Nudist combines documentary-style observations of naturist life with a light-hearted narrative.
